Garden Needs is truly your Manchester garden. Based just outside Manchester on Radford Street off Bury New Road, we are a Manchester garden centre at the heart of the community.Mike and Emma

We do not exist to sell plants or to make money, we exist for local people. We are a hidden oasis of lovely plants, friendly people and a relaxed setting. Whether you wish to pop don to get some gardening advice, you want to make new friends or you want to learn new skills we will welcome all with open arms.

We run volunteer days every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am until 4pm. Although we call these
volunteer days, they are really just days when friends pop in and we like to call these people our members as they are a very important part of what we do. Members can pop in at any time during the day and are welcome to stay for 10 minutes or all day – we have a very laid back way of working. We are open to everyone of all abilities, even if you are just popping in to our Manchester garden for a break or a chat.

Generally we will potter around the garden working on projects from cleaning out the greenhouse, to taking cuttings or potting up new plants. We always stop for lunch which is usually something hot, hearty and homemade – we all eat together and its like a little community family.

Picture 046We also offer courses and opportunities for members and this has been built around a need. Our horticulture courses have been very popular and we now offer landscaping services to Manchester residents. This gives our members a chance to get out and use their horticultural skills in the real world and provides a pathway to employment. Our landscaping team is led by our experienced gardeners and to date the team has been involved in a number of exciting projects.

We cannot emphasise enough how open our Manchester Garden is to everyone. So if you would like to get involved or you know anyone else who might please pop down and see us or come and get involved on a Tuesday or Thursday. If you would like more information drop us an email at
